OGP Pet Dog Grooming
It is our job to assist owners in keeping their dog clean and well groomed. There are hundreds of styling options that will be appropriate to your dog based on the lifestyle of your dog. Our role is to select the styling option that will make you and your dog happy. No matter what the owner requests, we, as professionals, will never put the dog at risk of injury or loss of dignity. " Humanity before Vanity!"
What does your dog gain from regular visits to the grooming salon?
More hugs and more attention, and most of all: dogs who come on a regular basis enjoy their grooming, they will trust the groomer, knowing that it is just a short time in the spa and their moms or dads will come soon to pick them up.
Here at On Golden Paws, we always do our best to see that your dogs are comfortable, healthy and happy.
We work with the ones that have "issues" to teach them that it is not a bad thing to be groomed, We help your senior dogs with standing on the table and make them as comfortable as we can.
We do believe that our special friends deserve special care!
GROOMING PROCEDURES:
Prep: This procedure includes clipping nails, cleaning ears, pre-clipping ( depends on the breed), brushing /de-matting, assessment of personality and searching for lumps and bumps, aches and pains the customer is not aware of.
Bathing: Bathing is done right after the prep work. We use a Hydro pressure system to clean your dog. this also aids in massaging sore muscles and soothing aches and pains.
We only use Earth Bath shampoos and conditioners. Earth bath is 100% natural. We use the Oatmeal and Aloe, or the Teatree and Aloe to ensure the maximum safety for your pet's skin, coat and eyes.
We also offer deskunking, deodorizing shampooing. Customers are welcome to bring their own shampoo for their dogs. After each shampoo, a conditioner is applied to re-hydrate the skin and coat. This also serves to help remove any static electricity and detangles the coat as well as helps to repel dirt off the coat.
Forced Air Drying: Forced air blow drying cuts the drying time in half; therefore reducing the kennel drying time immensely. By using the forced air blow dryer, all the loose undercoat is removed in the tub as well as fluffing up the coat to get that extra special look.
Kennel Drying: Kennel drying is great for dogs that don't like the forced air dryer or drying areas of the dog's body that can not be dried by the forced air dryer.
Towel Drying: Towel drying is perfect for the small and toy breeds that love to be cuddled and held. Towelling off these dogs works well and is the least stressful on the small dogs.
Hand Fluffing: The final step to drying is the hand fluff drying. This is done with a stand dryer combined with brushing up the dog's coat, fluffing and straightening it at the same time.
Clipping the coat: After the drying procedure, depending on the breed, we will clip the coat according to the client's wishes, whether it is a regular breed clip or a modified clip requested by the customer. Clipping can be various lengths from near surgical to 1-2 inches. Anything longer than that would be scissors
