Question: How much exercise does my puppy need per day.
Answer: A common rule is five minutes of exercise per month of age, up to twice a day. For example, if your puppy is three months old you can exercise her for 15 minutes up to twice a day. Follow this rule until your puppy is fully grown. Once your dog is fully grown, she can exercise for longer.
Question: What is Puppy Imprinting?
Answer: Puppy Imprinting is a program where a Certified Trainer takes your puppy into their home and teaches the puppy life skills such as potty training, crate training, basic commands, leash walking, etc. The puppy will also be introduced to as many different environments as possible based on the time the trainer will have with your puppy. Also the puppy will be socialized with as many dogs, adults and children as possible.
Question: How does a puppy overcome the loss of losing the bond with the trainer and then make the transition to the new owner?
Answer: While puppies learn about bonding and friendship while they are still young, it is important to differentiate between their learning the ability to bond and the bonding process itself. When raised and trained correctly a puppy will come to learn how to form meaningful ties with their human family, a skill that will set them up for life and enable them to make future bonds with additional caregivers. If a puppy has had a bad start in life or has been mistreated, neglected or inappropriately trained they may find it harder to bond with new people but this does not mean its impossible. It simply means you will have to go back to basics and teach your dog about bonding and love by means of your interactions with them.
