From Mili's owners to the breeder " Halton Hills Doodles"

Hi Sierra,
I hope you are well.
We were reunited with Mili this past Friday. She is adorable and has quickly adjusted to being with Olivia and the rest of our family. I wanted to share how well she is doing.
We feel so lucky that you recommended Kelly from On Golden Paws. Kelly has been incredible. We’ve had several puppies throughout our lives, but we never expected the training to be this good.
Mili is already crate-trained and knows where to go to the bathroom. She is comfortable around strangers, tolerates noises, adapts to new situations well, is calm in the car, and interacts nicely with other dogs. Her on-leash skills are impressive—perhaps even better than Olivia’s!
I was really anxious about bringing home a new puppy, especially since we are so busy with three kids, with Andrea working at the hospital and me working from home. However, Mili has been a game changer. She’s a cute, cuddly, happy, energetic little furball, but she also has the training and behavior of an experienced dog.
Additionally, we faced the challenge of having our friend bring Mili to Spain for us. Kelly helped us navigate everything smoothly and diligently stayed on top of every detail. She ensured Mili had everything she needed, from the duffle bag with the proper measurements to making sure she would be comfy and calm during the journey inside the carrying bag. Kelly also handled the vaccinations, vet paperwork, and CFIA forms for travel. She even brought the necessary paperwork from Bayfield to Toronto since a holiday shortened our CFIA appointment window. No obstacle was too great for her!
The services Kelly provided were worth every penny, and we feel fortunate to have had her take care of Mili. We’re recommending her to our friends who are anxious about getting a puppy due to the expertise, time and effort needed at the beginning. Her services are a perfect match for families who may be anxious and aren’t experts in puppy training.
Please feel free to contact us for any referrals or any questions.
Wishing you all the best and will send some updates and pictues soon!
Best,
Andres ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi Kelly,
I just wanted to take a moment to share our gratitude again for your incredible work in such a formative time for Penny. Since she left your classroom and her puppy years behind, here are some of the amazing things she got up to:
- She learned how to press buttons to speak to us! (Fluentpet)
- She became a certified therapy dog and started to visit hospitals, conferences & care homes with her grandpa!
- She helps us teach kids!
- She helped us get married!
Hi Kelly,
First of all, we wanted to thank you for the great job that you did with Leo. He is such a well behaved puppy :). Secondly, we taught him how to shake his paw and Maya asked me to share this video with you. Happy holidays, Maya and her family. |

Hi Kelly! I hope all is well. Watching your Facebook posts is the highlight of my day 😁. Casey is doing great! We just finished a really fun training course called “Games that Train”. Magic Hands (Casey catches treats that I drop from my hands) has resulted in an intense focus that I didn’t even think was possible! We’re starting our third level of agility next week and we’re both having a ton of fun. He’s a smart little guy and, thanks to the great start he had with you, so easy to train.
Hi Kelly,
It was great meeting you too today. We have gained so much confidence in you and how you are training Alfie. He has already learned so much and seems like he is actually older in his ways because of your training. We look forward to seeing you when we pick him up.
Hi Kelly,
This is Chewy ‘s mom
He is the most precious calm dog I have ever been around. You did a fabulous job with him. He sits for treats, and goes into the crate with no crying. We have taken him to a dog park a few times where all the other dog owners totally adore him. But they all look at me and say “you are a first time dog mom”. It seems I need him in my eyesight ! , although he runs and jumps with all the other dogs. lol
There are no issues in getting along with other dogs. Yesterday he got groomed for the first time and the groomer said he was they most well behaved puppy she has seen in a long time. Thank you for doing such a great job with him
Hi, Kelly!
We've had a really great first week with Duncan. He's an absolute sweetheart and doing really well. Sleeping in his crate for 8+ hours at night...just a few potty accidents but otherwise doing great. We've been working on the commands you taught us daily. He follows me everywhere....my little shadow.
I've been in touch with a trainer that was recommended to us .
We look forward to continuing our work with him.
Thank you very much for the time you spent with Duncan. It's set us off on the right path.

Mocha is growing up fast 🐾!
The time has flown and we are enjoying our time together. Mocha is a wonderful girl, energetic but also soft and cuddly.
We are attending puppy classes and also puppy socialization so learning lots :). She gets along great with all types and sizes of dogs and puppies.
Mocha is well known in our community now on our many walks together.
Thank you again for such a special puppy and Kelly a huge thanks for her great training at your home (she does up and down stairs great now - and loves her car trips and crate)!
Take care,
Trish

Most people that plan to get a dog can’t bear to part with a cute puppy for one month, and in reality most people don’t have the time or knowledge to properly train one. It’s tough not being with your puppy for the first month but if you can handle the separation, you will have an incredibly trained puppy. In the full life of your pup, being apart for a few months is worth way more than 10 years with an untrained dog. The 1st month is the most important and Kelly is amazing at what she does. Our pup was socialized and not frightened anymore, was very attentive and ready to learn. Kelly will always be our dogs second mom and we can’t wait for our reunion! Full disclosure, sometimes in puppy class we feel embarrassed at how well adapted he is compared to his classmates. Thanks Kelly!! |
Willa Perhaps you were like me not knowing what a puppy imprint program could possibly be, or how useful it would be for a new puppy just 9 weeks old. Let me give you some back story. I have a 21 year old son with profound autism. My son has found great comfort with a well trained, tolerant, resilient, gentle dog. My son had a service dog for 10 years who had great impact on his safety and sense of comfort. When he was young his service dog would even sleep with him giving him "deep pressure" to calm him enough to have a good night's sleep. Now that my son is an adult, living in a group home I want him to have as many "comforts" as possible. Having the responsibility and structure (albeit with prompting and supervision from the group home staff) of owning a dog, something my son can care for and love is just what he needs to add further quality to his life. To fulfill this need we decided to get a labradoodle. The breed is known for its loyalty, loving temperament, agility, energy and hug-ability. We found a wonderful breeder and we found Kelly's puppy imprint program. On November 2nd 2016 we picked up our puppy (we named her Willa) from the breeder and two hours later she was handed over to Kelly. What we knew was that we were going to have the puppy socialized with lots of people and other pets. We also knew that crate training would be established as well as house training started. When Willa came home after two weeks we were truly amazed at all she could do! She was crate trained for the whole night! She was house trained! She could sit, go down on her belly, stay and come when called. Her play skills were very well established! Her abilities certainly exceeded our expectations. I had no idea that a puppy so young could achieve in two weeks the foundation for a well tempered, well mannered, happy dog. I would highly recommend this program. We received so much benefit out of this program. We avoided all the "negatives"of having a new puppy. Trust me, the process was painless! My strength is certainly not implementing the solid necessities of acquired skills that a well mannered dog needs. What I can to is sustain and maintain and build upon what Willa has learned from this wonderful program. The first few months of a puppy's life are critical to having a wonderful dog for the rest of its life. What we have is a well behaved, well trained happy dog with happy owners. Most important however is how well Willa is socialized to be a loving companion for my son. A picture is worth a thousand words. Thank you Kelly for establishing the puppy joy for all of us! Casey
Hi Kelly -
I hope this email finds you both well. I've been meaning to write you for ages to give you an update on Casey.
And I thought what better time to send you a picture then when he's fresh from the groomers.
Casey is 9.5 months now and as you can see from his picture, he's grown like a weed. I haven't had him weighed in a while but I'm guessing he's over 40 lbs now!!
He is just the loveliest dog - gentle, friendly and full of lots of spunk! Kelly, you'll be amused to hear that his nickname "Kamikaze Casey" has stuck as he still loves to barrel down the stairs, skip the last 3 or 4 and go flying into the air!!
He has been very attentive to training and I certainly credit your early foundation. He is obedient (anything for a treat, right?!) and follows commands well. We're still working on loose-leash walking but he's getting there. Except when he sees a squirrel or bird! He's very friendly with other dogs and incredibly patient with our four year old daughter, even when she tugs him around the house and attempts to dress him!!
So all to say that Casey is doing great and we've just loved welcoming him into our family. He certainly keeps us on our toes, but in a good way!!
"All I can say is "WOW!" We had our puppy in Kelly's training program for 4 weeks. What a woderful job she does with the puppies! Our puppy was almost completely potty trained, slept thru the night, loved going in his crate, could do sit, down, come, leave it, roll over, and touch. As well as getting good with walking.
Kelly's work with the puppies is amazing, and we will be getting her to help with our next one too! Thanks so much Kelly for all you do!" Lisa |
Hi Kelly, just an update on Charlie, he is over a year now...boy how time flies!... Anyway, he is an amazing dog. He listens very well ( except when squirrels are around! :)
He is so gentle with your children, and snuggles with them every night. I can't thank you enough for establishing such a good foundation in training and socializing in such a short time you had him in your program. thanks again, Amy B |
